The first conference organized entirely by Brill Pharma brought together ophthalmologists from all over Spain to address the main clinical challenges in the cornea and ocular surface.

Brill Pharma held the 1st edition of SOFT – Ocular Surface and Ophthalmology Conference in Barcelona, a scientific meeting created with the aim of becoming a leading annual forum for clinical updates, research, and the exchange of knowledge in the field of the ocular surface.

On February 20, Brill Pharma held the first edition of SOFT – Ocular Surface and Ophthalmology Conference, the first congress organized entirely by the company. The event brought together ophthalmologists from across Spain in Barcelona for a day dedicated to scientific updates and clinical discussion on the major current challenges in the ocular surface.

The conference was created with a clear objective: to establish a dedicated space for training, clinical exchange, and innovation regarding ocular surface pathologies, one of the most rapidly evolving areas within ophthalmology.

The conference was scientifically coordinated by Dr. Alexandra Arango Rodríguez, medical director and cornea specialist at the Institut de la Còrnia i d’Oftalmologia (ICOF), and brought together a distinguished panel of specialists from leading hospitals

who shared scientific evidence, clinical experience, and real-world cases of high value for daily practice.

The scientific program addressed some of the most significant challenges in current ophthalmological practice, including diagnostic challenges in infections and tumors of the ocular surface, the impact of glaucoma on the ocular surface, corneal sensitivity and neurotrophic keratopathy, a comprehensive approach to keratoconus, and the latest therapeutic advances in endothelial dystrophies and DMEK surgery.

With this first edition, SOFT establishes itself as a 100% Brill initiative, designed to become an annual gathering for ophthalmology specialists interested in advancing knowledge and management of ocular surface diseases.

Brill Pharma would like to thank all the professionals who participated in this first edition and helped make SOFT a venue for high-level scientific exchange.

We continue to look into the eyes.
