Brill Pharma reinforces its commitment to clinical research in ophthalmology through its collaboration with the Cornea and Ocular Surface Research Program at the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital, an initiative focused on advanced training and the development of innovative projects in the anterior segment.

Brill Pharma is collaborating with the Cornea and Ocular Surface Research Program at the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital (Seville), an initiative aimed at promoting clinical research and advanced training in anterior segment pathologies.
The program, which lasts 12 months (December 2025 – December 2026), aims to train a specialist in the cornea and ocular surface through the development of a research project in this clinical field.
For this edition, the selected specialist is Dr. Sergio del Valle, who will conduct his research within the Ophthalmology Department at the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital.
During the program, Dr. del Valle will participate in the development of the research project, “Evaluation of corneal sensitivity using the Corneal Esthesiometer BRILL in patients with keratoconus,” which aims to analyze corneal sensitivity across different severity levels of the disease and study its correlation with various clinical parameters and treatments.
The project will include the evaluation of patients using techniques such as biomicroscopy, corneal topography, and corneal sensitivity measurement, as well as the generation of clinical data that will contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in this area. Additionally, the program includes the publication of scientific articles and clinical case studies derived from the research conducted.
This collaboration reinforces Brill Pharma’s commitment to clinical research, the training of specialists, and the promotion of projects that contribute to improving the understanding and management of ocular surface diseases.
